Detective Unit

Officers within the Detective Unit are responsible for investigation of homicide, suicide and reported deaths, robbery, burglary, rape and sexual assault, arson, larcenies, and other serious crimes.  Officers assigned to this duty within the Edgartown Department also work in conjunction with a number of local, state and federal agencies.

Additionally, the Detective Unit is responsible for assisting patrol officers, conducting undercover surveillance operations, search warrants, establishing, maintaining and processing crime scenes, collecting evidence and submitting it for analysis, conducts background checks and apprehends persons with outstanding arrest warrants.

Within the Edgartown Department Officer Curtis Chandler is assigned to this unit.
