The Edgartown Police Department is now accepting employment applications for the 2021 season. The following are the open positions:

Seasonal Special Police Officers

Seasonal Traffic Officers

 

–Seasonal Special Police Officer applicants must be 21 years of age, must have completed the Reserve Intermittent Police Academy with current/active MPTC status and be eligible for immediate employment.

–Seasonal Traffic Officer applicants must be 17 years of age.

Town of Edgartown / Department Assistant 2021

Town of Edgartown is seeking to fill the position of Department Assistant for the Edgartown Police Dept. This position provides valuable support to the Edgartown Police.  Candidates must be able to work efficiently and effectively within the police department and with the general public.  Requires computer skills, very good written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.  Responsibilities will include processing of firearms licenses, taxi applications and licenses, and collection of corresponding fees; processes requests from insurance companies and law offices, maintains cashbooks and makes weekly deposits to the Town Treasurer and will assist in the maintenance of the police vehicle fleet. This position performs a variety of secretarial and clerical work to assist in the efficient operation of the department to include reports sent to the Commonwealth and the processing of Special police detail invoices. The position will also provide support to the Administrative Assistant in the maintaining of department files and records.  High school diploma or equivalent, two years’ experience in a police or municipal setting preferred, Associates degree helpful; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Full time, year round position with benefits. Beginning salary range is $23.82-$24.76 hourly.
