Firearms Licensing
First time applications for Firearms Permits, both Firearms Identification (FID) Card and License to Carry (LTC), will be accepted by appointment only.
Any applicant must be at least 18 years of age and be able to show that they have been a resident of Edgartown for at least 1 year.
Renewals do not need an appointment. Please complete the application and drop it off at the station or send in by mail. The fee by check or money order may be included with the application or it may be made online through our website.
- $100 FEE– Check made payable to Town of Edgartown (applicants over 70 years are exempt from renewal fee, however, first issue must pay). Please note, we no longer take cash payments – please bring a check to cover the amount due.
- If this is a first issue permit, a firearms safety certificate or hunter safety course certificate must be submitted at time of licensing procedure (not required for renewal)
- If you have not yet completed a course and been certified, the Martha’s Vineyard Rod and Gun Club holds classes throughout the year and should be contacted.
- A photo ID
