It is in the best interest of everyone that each complaint about the performance of an individual officer is resolved fairly and promptly. The Edgartown Police Department has formal procedures for investigating complaints against officers or employees (EPD Policy & Procedure 4.01 Internal Affairs). If you are looking to file an official complaint with the Edgartown Police Department please download the following file and submit it to a supervisor at the Police Station.
* Anonymous complaints – No complaint will be rejected solely because it is anonymous, as anonymous complaints can often be a valuable source of information and will be considered on their individual merits. Care must be taken, however, that department employees are not subjected to unjust, frivolous, or capricious complaints. Keep in mind that without leaving any contact information we have no ability to follow-up with you or seek further information if needed.
